Stay tuned for The Enchanted Village Opening. Visitors from all over the nation go to Jordans Furniture during the holidays but on Christmas Eve, sit down with Santa at The Enchanted Village Opening.
The Enchanted Village Opening
Jordans Furniture announced that the Enchanted Village tradition made by New England will be brought back to the Boston Area. This particular event has a lot of history with the people from all over the world. The Enchanted Village Opening will show the newcomers how beautiful it really is because words can’t explain it. It was once called the Enchanted Village of St. Nicholas and it was put on display during the holiday in 1958.
Jordan March Company commissioned a Bavarian toy creator to make 28 fully decorated holiday scenes with 250 “magically” animated figures.
The Enchanted Village Opening History
During the 1960s and the 1970s the Village was displayed in its Downtown Crossing store. The Heart waring display became part of New England’s seasonal celebrations in no time at all. Everything was fine but in 1972 it stayed closed until 1990. In 1988 Macy’s purchased Jordan Marsh and the display was sold to the city of boston for the City Hall Plaza, the village then moved on to the Hynes Convention Center duet to the lack of funds. In 2006 the display was put on halt and in 2009 it was put up for auction.
We are proud to say that the Jordans Furniture purchased the village in May 2009 and restored. The Enchanted Village Opening is only once a year and it’s a permanent event.
Don’t miss the The Enchanted Village Opening.
